What Is OptiFree PureMoist?

OptiFree PureMoist is a multi-purpose disinfecting solution (MPDS) developed by Alcon. It is designed to clean, rinse, disinfect, and store soft contact lenses, ensuring that lenses remain comfortable and hygienic throughout the day.

Benefits

Comprehensive Lens Care

Cleaning and Disinfecting

OptiFree PureMoist effectively cleans and disinfects contact lenses, removing debris, protein deposits, and harmful microorganisms. This helps to maintain lens clarity and reduce the risk of eye infections.

Dual Disinfection

The solution uses a dual disinfection system with Polyquad and Aldox. These disinfectants work together to kill a broad range of bacteria, fungi, and acanthamoeba, ensuring that lenses are thoroughly disinfected and safe to wear.

Enhanced Comfort

All-Day Moisture

The Hydraglyde Moisture Matrix technology ensures that lenses retain moisture throughout the day. This helps to prevent dryness and discomfort, making it ideal for those who wear their lenses for extended periods.

Reduced Irritation

By keeping lenses hydrated, OptiFree PureMoist reduces the likelihood of irritation and redness. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with sensitive eyes or those prone to dryness.

Convenience and Versatility

Suitable for All Soft Lenses

OptiFree PureMoist is suitable for all types of soft contact lenses, including silicone hydrogel lenses. This versatility makes it a convenient choice for most contact lens wearers.

Multi-Purpose Solution

As a multi-purpose solution, OptiFree PureMoist simplifies the lens care routine by providing a single solution for cleaning, rinsing, disinfecting, and storing lenses.

Features

Advanced Cleaning and Disinfection

Effective Against Microorganisms

The dual disinfection system is effective against a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria and fungi that can cause eye infections. Regular use of this solution helps to ensure that lenses remain free from harmful contaminants.

Protein Removal

OptiFree PureMoist is formulated to remove protein deposits from the lens surface. Protein deposits can cause discomfort and reduce visual clarity, so their removal is essential for maintaining comfortable and clear lenses.

Hydraglyde Moisture Matrix

Long-Lasting Hydration

The Hydraglyde Moisture Matrix technology binds moisture to the lens surface, providing long-lasting hydration. This helps to keep lenses comfortable from the moment they are inserted until they are removed at the end of the day.

Comfort for Extended Wear

For those who wear their lenses for long hours or have dry eyes, the moisture retention provided by Hydraglyde technology can significantly enhance comfort and reduce the need for rewetting drops.

Considerations For Using

Proper Usage

Follow Instructions

To achieve the best results, it is important to follow the usage instructions provided by Alcon. This includes properly cleaning and rinsing lenses before storing them in the solution overnight.

Lens Case Hygiene

Regularly cleaning and replacing the lens case is crucial to prevent contamination. The lens case should be rinsed with solution, allowed to air dry, and replaced every three months to maintain optimal hygiene.

Potential Allergies and Sensitivities

Monitoring for Reactions

While OptiFree PureMoist is designed to be gentle on the eyes, some individuals may have sensitivities or allergies to the ingredients. If you experience any discomfort, redness, or irritation, discontinue use and consult your eye care professional.

Storage and Handling

Avoid Contamination

To prevent contamination, avoid touching the tip of the OptiFree PureMoist bottle to any surfaces, including your hands or lenses. Always recap the bottle after use to maintain the sterility of the solution.

Temperature Considerations

Store OptiFree PureMoist solution at room temperature and avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures. This helps to preserve the efficacy of the disinfecting agents.
